The Bubble Buddies currently reside in the physics rotation of the DPEA, where they are learning about simple direct current motors. Pictured above are Buddies Albert Miao (far left), Kyle Cekada (middle back), and Decker Brandts (center) as they work to assemble a Beakman’s motor from only wire, magnets, and a battery. Brandts seeks to lighten the otherwise tense mood by playfully posing for the camera.
In these pictures, Buddies Micah Doctolero (left) and Emmy Wyttenbach (right) are testing out their Beakman’s motor. Good luck guys!
Here Mr. Miller is teaching the Buddies the essentials for building their very own motors. Buddy Kyle Faison looks on in admiration and unadulterated awe.
In this image, Buddies Angus Goodner (left) and Kyle Faison (not left) work furiously to complete their work concerning research on Beakman’s motors. It seems Goodner needs to learn how to properly hold a pencil.
Here Mr. Miller teaches the Buddies about electromagnets in preparation for an eventual tutorial of motors. Although the Buddies are aching to progress in knowledge, they are content as well to ponder upon electromagnets if only because of the facility and entertainment with which Miller teaches.
Here are pictures of the scarecrow the Buddies built for the DPEA Halloween bash. It dons a Lord-of-the-flies-esque pig head, artistically positioned against a shimmering backdrop of the night sky. The T-Mobile product placement is entirely intentional.
Finally, here are pictures of the dance floor at the aforementioned Halloween party. There were strobe lights aplenty alongside a generous helping of balloons. It remains a mystery to this day why the letters D, P, E, and A were chosen as the components of the centerpiece.
