Last spring, DPEA seniors took the 2015 Carousel of Physics to the Bay Area Makers Fair. There, they talked with many people, including interviewers from Infinitethinking.org, which strives to inspire innovative learning environments by showcasing them on their web series.

Mr. Shaeer Speaks at Education Conference

Our DPEA Director spoke about the positive impacts of adding Art to a STEM curriculum to create an integrated STEAM curriculum. He shared how the DPEA's projects draw upon a variety of disciplines and give students the opportunity to develop authentic products. Amir spoke with many individuals about their programs and shared wisdom about how to innovate within the public school system in California. He also had the opportunity to give advice to college students who wanted to know how to gain more technical experience as they develop original products.

Santa Barbara Unified School District High School Academy Showcase

The Santa Barbara Unified School District's 3rd annual High School Academy Showcase will take place at 4:30-6:30 pm on Thursday, January 14 in the Dome at Earl Warren Showgrounds. Educators and students from the following academies will be on hand to share information and answer questions:

DPEA Won a Grand Prize in the Santa Barbara Holiday Parade

Since the DPEA won the "Most Themed Entry" award in the Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, we are considered the Grand Prize winners, and we have been awarded $250 and a nice plaque. DPEA Forges Innovative Partnership with Adams and Crane

Teachers from both Crane and Adams Elementary School are working at the DPEA in order to bring DPEA teaching techniques back to their schools' new design centers.

The DPEA is proud to announce a partnership with Crane School that will take place over the coming year. Crane teachers will help DPEA teachers in their classes and learn firsthand how to create an Engineering program.

Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy's 'Carousel of Physics' to Move to Ridley-Tree Education Center

Since August, the DPEA Mechatronics Carousel of Physics has been exibited in the Family Resource Center of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
