If you built it, the saying goes, they will come. On Saturday October 25th, the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy showed off its newest handbuilt creation, the Capital Campaign Donor Wall, and people came indeed - the people whose generosity gave the award-winning educational experience the ability to build the Elings Center for Engineering Education on the Dos Pueblos High campus.

The Great Wall of Thanks

Sandy Seale, DPEA Foundation president, proudly noted that all the metal panels on the wall were handmade by students and staff in the DPEA’s own machine shop. DPEA founder and director Amir Abo-Shaeer addressed the crowd of familiar faces. “This entire project is entirely due to altruism, to many people contributing to make a greater whole,” said Abo-Shaeer.

DPEA Open House

See the DPEA in person and up close! We invite the public to see our facility and learn more about our program in an informal setting. Students and teachers will be present to answer questions and demonstrate our robots. Also, the brand new addition to the DPEA will be open for viewing. Come out and see the Elings Center for Education and the new DPEA Design Lab.

Dos Pueblos Robotics Team Heading to World Championship

Los Angeles Regional Robotics Competition

Team 1717 competes in their first tournament this season. The Los Angeles Regional Competition will be held at the Long Beach Arena on March 20 – 22. The tournament finals are scheduled to begin right after lunch on Saturday, March 22, and these will be followed by an awards ceremony.

Thursday Morning Live

Thursday Morning Live (TML) offers a variety of enriching opportunities, ranging from lectures and workshops by accomplished individuals, to the opportunity to interact with DPEA peers. Many of these seminars also include a breakfast students cannot miss—waffles, donuts, and sometimes a chocolate fountain.
