2008 Competitions

This year, Team 1717 attended two regional events in Los Angeles and San Diego, CA. After winning both, we traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for the FIRST Robotics Championships!

We attended the San Diego Regional, held March 6 through 8, 2008, at the San Diego Sports Arena. By winning the competition, we qualified for the Championships in Atlanta! Tons of thanks to Team 968 R.A.W.C. and Team 294 Beach City Robotics for their victorious alliance!

We had our second regional win at the Los Angeles Regional in the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, held March 20 through 22, 2008. Huge thanks to Team 330 Beachbots and Team 980 ThunderBots for playing with us!

After being ranked second out of 85 teams in the Galileo Division, we created an outstanding alliance with Team 254 Cheesy Poofs, and Team 384 Sparky, to enter the division finals. After winning the best-of-three quarter- and semi-finals, our alliance lost to the 1st-ranked alliance of the Galileo Division: Team 1114 Simbotics, Team 217 ThunderChickens and Team 148 Robowranglers, the alliance that went on to earn the title of world FIRST champions.
