Become a Partner

The Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy is currently funded through a California Department of Education Grant. This grant was awarded to our school in order to help us develop and implement the Engineering Academy. This grant expires after the 2005-2006 school year and in order for us to continue this program we need to find new sources of funding, preferably in our community.

The students in our academy are participating in a program developed by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) which is a multinational non-profit organization, that aspires to transform culture, making science, math, engineering, and technology as cool for kids as sports are today. The Reputation of FIRST and the value of the FIRST Robotics competition are well-known in Corporate America and the list of sponsors that support FIRST is quite impressive.

The largest part of our annual budget is devoted to participating in the FIRST robotics competition. Established programs similar to ours are fortunate to have significant corporate partnership. In our community we have a substantial number of technology based companies. It is our hope that the leadership of these companies will take note of the unique and valuable opportunity that the Engineering Academy is providing to the youth in this community and help to insure the continued viability of our program.

If you are interested in becoming a partner, we would be happy to bring students to your company and provide you with a formal presentation detailing exactly how your financial support will be allocated. All partners will have their logo placed on our team shirts, on the actual competition robot as well as on our team backdrop in our competition pit area. We will gladly supply you with photographs and video clips for publicity and press release purposes. In addition to this all of our partners will receive an annual Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy expenditure report to assure you of the financial integrity of our program.

The Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy is a rigorous academic program and the students that participate in it are among the best at our distinguished school. Although they are high school right now, our students are accepted into the highest ranked science and engineering programs at the best colleges throughout the country including UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Harvard to name a few. Upon graduating from college they will go on to become leaders in both industry and academia. We believe that it is important for the students in the Engineering Academy to see our partners not only as a source of financial support but also as a business resource that they may be able to use in the future. We require our students to become familiar with the products and services that our partners provide with the hope that they will form business partnerships with you in the future. When it comes to community partnership, our motto is "Don't forget your roots".
