Engineering Academy Internship Program

Kevin VoightThe Engineering Academy was launched in 2002 to improve science and engineering education by incorporating courses that are project based and have a relevance to real world situations. The Engineering Academy program includes business aspects as well as the core engineering education. As part of the learning experience, the Academy is interested in placing students into local companies in intern positions.

Internship participants include both juniors and seniors of the Engineering Academy. The program is looking to identify a number of paid part time positions each summer. Positions can be technical or non-technical. Examples include engineering, physics, medical, business, sales, architecture, graphic design, and much more.

Intern skills include:

  • CAD (SolidWorks)
  • Soldering and Circuit Board Assembly
  • Programming (C++, Java, and more)
  • Machine Operation (Lathe, Mill)
  • Copy writing
  • Web design & Production
  • Graphic Design & Production
  • Project Management
  • Test and QA
  • Robotics Design & Assembly
  • Electronic
  • Working with Teams
  • Technical Prototyping
  • MS Office and Google Docs
  • Estimation
